Discipline Yourself Before Something Else Does
At about halfway through each semester it comes to a time where midterm exams are at the front of everyone's to-do list. This can be a major stress inducer for many especially given that exams are not only in one class but every class. There are many different techniques to utilize to help you be more prepared for the exams ahead.
When preparing for exams I often find myself being anxious and stressed during these periods that stem from me being afraid of not getting a good grade on the exam. While attempting to juggle multiple hobbies and my personal life outside of schooling, it leaves little time in my schedule for studying that adds more stress and anxiety. Developing a strategy to manage your time while studying is one of the most important things to do especially in a college setting. One major thing that I had to accept is the idea of putting off my hobbies and focusing on my schoolwork which goes into how well disciplined I am.
Discipline is something that everyone has dealt with in their life and it has different meanings for everyone. Discipline can mean the punishment or consequences received for participating in a behavior that is frowned upon. The way I see discipline is the degree to which you will stop or put off doing a certain behavior that you may want to do to be able to live up to responsibilities. Going back to the idea of studying, discipline is very important for being able to study efficiently. In my honest opinion, no one wants to study but everyone should be studying. This can be understood as you should discipline yourself by forcing yourself to study instead of being disciplined for not studying by getting a bad grade.
I totally agree with your take on midterm stress! Time management and self-discipline are definitely key. It's tough balancing everything, but focusing on studying now to avoid bad grades later really pays off. Thanks for sharing your perspective!
