Thanksgiving Time Management Pow-wow: A Typical Rant

While Thanksgiving break is approaching, it is more so a break from actually going to class rather than a break from everything in general. I have work all next week, on top of multiple final papers for class to work on, on top of marketing for a new album I am dropping, Scenario, and the Hardin County Community Foundation. To say the least I'm just glad I don't have to waste my time driving to class every day next week, eating up over two hours of my day practically.

I am however excited to be able to see friends and family over the break to enjoy some festivity and good food. Another thing I am excited about is the comfort of being in my home and able to put myself to the tasks I had previously mentioned. It's really easy to tell myself while I'm leaving campus for home, that I will work on a project or paper when I get home, just to be tired and want to relax after taking the long drive.

With the assignments that I have, it will leave little free-time to enjoy much of anything because of me working 8 A.M.-4:30 P.M. Monday through Wednesday, which is about the only time I would have had a break. The rest of my evenings will be spend preparing for Thanksgiving dishes and trying to relax outside of trying to complete the assignments I have. Especially with spending time with family and finals coming up, finding time to just sit back and watch a show or play video games, needless to say, is not going to be too easy.

I will push through however, because today (Nov. 20th) I plan to spend all afternoon and evening working on the long papers that I have due within the coming weeks to create ample time for myself to be able to do the things that I love without the looming pressure of not completing assignments. It may seem like I'm putting too much pressure on myself for one day, but realistically I would rather suffer a lot for a short time than have an extended burn that lasts for a lifetime.

Hopefully everyone is able to enjoy their breaks, bar the assignments, job, and studying that may have to occur for most. I am excited to come back to class to share the work Spencer and I have done to help prepare the HCCF for their social media debut.
