Hardin Co. Foundation: Updates and Moving Forward
As the semester begins to close and assignments from other classes are out of the way, I feel like Spencer and I can actually start dedicating a lot more time towards working on the plan and strategies for increasing awareness of the foundation through social media. The main concern we have moving forward is aesthetical, as the types of content we have in mind has begun to come to fruition, but the color scheme and other factors that influence physical appeal are still in the works. As far as the content goes, we will most likely not be posting until after the semester is over, but rather giving the company the tools they need to move forward in creating content for themselves with the knowledge we helped them gain.
The content so far is consistent of four styles of posts that are to be uploaded at least twice a week in the evenings to Facebook, Instagram, and potentially LinkedIn if the organization deems it necessary. We chose this sort of model because the demographics they are aiming to increase awareness towards are those of the age ranges of 18-50 which allows for individuals to be educated and have financial stability to be able to donate to the foundation if they wish. The four styles of posts consist of detailing the Grants given in the community, detailing memorials that have been founded and constructed to serve a purpose in the community, introducing members of the trustee board, as well as raising awareness for fundraisers and events that the foundation puts on for the community.
Overall, the main concern moving forward is communicating with the foundation to ensure the content meets their standards, while teaching them how to use platforms such as Canva, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn as a content creator. This should be easy enough, however the time is dwindling outside of our favor which could potentially affect the quality of content moving forward. This is why it is important to focus on providing quality work while allowing for flexibility within the posts themselves.
The first thing that is necessary, is establishing the accounts on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, as the foundation does not have a social media presence at all. After this is done, we will begin to create introductory posts to detail the foundation and give them a head start on social platforms, then turn over the control of the content to the organization so they can meet their demands with the knowledge they gained, along with the templates for content that they can manipulate based on their needs.
