Scenario: Beta Testing and Content Strategizing
As Scenario is approaching the final release date of January 1st, the focus will shift onto my colleagues and I's ability to analyze the indie-gaming industry and leveraging social platforms like TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and Reddit. This will ensure we can connect with the target demographic of 15-35 year old gamers who love challenging titles from independent game developers. The key aspect of marketing to ensure a solid release to reach our goal of 7,000 wishlists on Steam marketplace, we must focus on the developer of the game to be more authentic with the creative processes and personalities involved in the project. This will not only boost the conversion of individuals who wish to purchase the game, but will also lead to the creation of niche communities surrounding the creators themselves.
To ensure the release is effective, our main leveraging point is word of mouth awareness by providing access keys to the game upon release to various YouTubers, streamers and influencers who can spread the word of the game to their fanbases. The goal is to generate a niche community to build momentum for the creator as a whole before releasing the game, to have a solid foundation of awareness of the game itself. By focusing on the aspect of the personal branding through the developer and associated personalities, we can ensure that we reach the demand of 7,000 wishlists on the Steam marketplace.
My role within this is the composer of the soundtrack in part, (the other half is made by the developer: Gabe Harmon), which I will use to leverage social platforms, not only for the game, but for my own music career. Focusing on creating engaging posts through using in-game content to tell a visual story based off the soundtrack is a key leveraging point for my role in the development process, which will in turn bring awareness to the game foremost while building a niche community surrounding the creator of the soundtrack (which is me).
With the deadline of January 1st release date approaching fast, the only things we are missing are the completion of the Game Manual, the final trailer script, as well as beta testing from members of the development team. In theory, the goal is to have the game and all accompanying elements finished by December 1st, which will in turn leave us with the entire month of December to leverage social platforms to build a niche community surrounding the title.
If you have any tips, questions, or wish to be added to the discord server for the game, please let me know and I will supply you with everything you need to know about the upcoming indie-title coming in January of 2026.
